It's the sort of thing "big-city elites" would find funny, isn't it? I thought those were all liberals.
Hey apostropher,
I saw your comment there on presidents doing most good after their presidency was over. I'm thinking JQ Adams might actually have a chance. He did the Amistad case - at least acording to the movies. He served in the US House as well. If that Clinton for Secretary General thing ever became more that a whispering campaign he might have a shot.
I have to say, the line would be sort of funny in another context, when it's not part of a rush to belittle someone like Carter. The setting really got to me, though. God, those people piss me off.
You know, I did the same thing: I clicked from Kevin's, but while the site was loading, I thought, "why the fuck am I doing this?" and closed the window. God, they suck.
Ogged is right. Since the election, I've been making a concerted effort to avoid going to sites that will just piss me off. I much prefer to pretend Jonah Goldberg doesn't exist.
As Norbizness put it so eloquently: doughy pantload.
I've decided to spend my computer time only with other human beings. That means that The Corner is out.
This little episode fits neatly into the previous discussion here about the term 'chickenhawk'.
Let's see, a bunch of guys who never served in the military thinks it's just dandy to ridicule the naming of a military vessel after somebody who did. And did so by any and all accounts honorably.
If that's not a perfectly valid character flaw to point out, I don't know what is. Sad, sad, little men.
If you're going to trash a current or former president, do something really fun (and admittedly juvenile) like this.
