I recall Vera Hall from the Lomax Atlantic albums from 1958 or 9, "Roots Of The Blues" & "The Blues Roll On". She did an unaccompanied "Wild Ox Moan". Astonishing voice. (The above albums are worth getting. You'll find the original of Donovan's "Hey Gyp" on one of them).
