The french loves them some clint eastwood. Cahiers du Cinema has "Space Cowboys" as a top">http://alumnus.caltech.edu/~ejohnson/critics/cahiers.html#2000">top 10 film of 2000.
Are you kidding, ogged? My one complaint with the "Dollars" trilogy is the The Man with No Name just wouldn't shut up.
It's possible that I missed Eastwood's chatty period.
Then you should definitely check out The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Dude would put an auctioneer to shame.
Interesting thought experiment: what is the evidence that will convince me Clint Eastwood is a good director?
A good movie would not suffice, at this point.
You didn't care for Unforgiven?
This thought experiment is hurting my brane.
I don't know if I'll ever watch it, but I hear that Eastwood sings in Paint Your Wagon. I've also been told to fast forward through those parts.
I wouldn't bother with Paint Your Wagon, the parody in The Simpsons musical clip show was all you need to see of that film.
To amplify, Clint sings "They Call the Wind Maria" in Paint Your Wagon. Fast-forward if you like, but it's a fairyl amusing film.
I likely will watch it sometime. I've also been told it's one of the more accurate depictions - singing aside - of western mining camp life ever put on film.
