I don't understand. Reclaim it for its original meaning (a spurious fact)? The title of this post is an instance of the word's primary usage, I think.

I was thinking like this: originally, factoid=spurious; for a while CNN uses as equivalent to "factlet;" now, wiki says spurious is somehow real definition; I try to "reclaim" factletish definition. "Reclaim" is probably not the right word.
