Did you successfully resist the urge to mutter "At the Mineshaft"?
Actually, it's generally a very proper workplace -- the comment came from another firm. I arranged my face into a ladylike smirk meant to indicate that while I got the joke and was not offended, I certainly considered it inappropriate for the workplace, as the partner whose office I was sitting in glanced nervously at me.
Our local cable company is Cox Communications. Be assured that whenever there's a problem with the internet connection, I mutter "Stupid Cox" under my breath, and then giggle.
You do know the expert witness acronym, "witness having other reasonable explanation," right?
No, but I plan to make heavy usage of it from now on.
Does "producing" in the sense in which Counsel #2 used it mean, "bringing forward to testify"?
That could have been the sense in whivh #3 was using it too.
8 -- hm. So you think #3 was punning on "cox" and meaning to say, "we are all bringing our penes forward to testify"? It was a sort of lame pun either way but I thought he was saying "we are all dropping trou and flashing our dicks."
flashing our dicks=bringing penes forward to testify
"Please indicate for the record the hottest cocounsel....Let the record reflect that the penis became erect and pointed to Lizard E. Breath, esq."
In context, I believe he was commenting on the personalities of the witnesses available to us.
11: Geez, Tia, I have to keep working with those guys. Let me continue to do it without losing my lunch.
12 -- OK well that's a better pun that what I thought he was saying.
