Wow! Although it puts me in mind of something Harold Ross, my editorial hero, once wrote to a non-producing writer: "I have been like Christ in my patience..."
It'd be awesome if Bush said something like that.
yawn. But yeah, what's he going to say next? I mean, seems like he shot his load a bit early. Nobody left to compare himself with.
Nobody left to compare himself with.
Well, he could compare himself to the hero.
"Not content with merely swearing off sex until the Italian elections...."
A couple of days later, he said he was only joking. Which seemed perfectly plausible, in context, at least so far as I could tell through the English translation. Not so good a story, though.
Hmm, he says he was joking about the Napoleon comparison, too.
"I'm not saying that we're better or greater, or comparing us with Jesus Christ as a person or God as a thing or whatever it is. I just said what I said and it was wrong. Or it was taken wrong. And now it's all this."
It'd be really cool if Berlusconi had to say something like that.
Nobody left to compare himself with.
He could still go for Supply-Side Jesus.
You left ", Batman!" off the end of the title of this post.
"Holy Roman Empire, Mr. The Batman." (Geez, don't expect me to find the link to teh relevant Unfogged thread.)
