Re post title: http://www.xkcd.com/c89.html .
Apparently the PRESIDENT is giving an address at Stanford an hour after I'll have gone off the air, not far away. Excitement!
There are of course (at least) 2 George Lewis'. Some of us have time for both. I wish your show was archived or podded.
I was deceived! The show is actually going to be one to three. Sorry!

The worst part here is that the person doing the show from noon to one objectively sucks, hard. Two consecutive tracks by Matisyahu? Come ON.
This is the Cranberries on Nyquil, right?
But with fewer lies and bombs.
And zombies.
The Silver Apples are better. Is this the last of sucks, hard, or the first of Ben's?
This is the first part of mine. There might not actually be any George Lewis (trombonist), since I've lost an hour unexpectedly. Oh well: next time!
Ben, I like the Charming Hostess you've played on your show (and I think, on your blog?). Apple Tunes only has Sarajevo Blues. Is that one very dissimilar to the stuff you've played? Would I be better off going to the record store to search for Punch?
IIRC Sarajevo Blues is much more a capella. Not completely, I think, but more. And fewer covers/interpretations of traditionals. It's good, though. I like Punch more.

I was thinking, "This isn't quite the phrase I'd use to describe him" until the next comment.
I have just got out of a faculty meeting! But will be listening soon. The lack of George Lewis makes me sad, but if you post the track you were thinking of playing there's probably a > 1/2 chance I can just play it my own self.
Okay. I think I'll look around for Punch.
How crazy is it that the meatman magic matt weiner has faculty meetings to attend?
It was Shadowgraph 4, from Endless Shout. I suspect it'll feature in my next show anyway.
Ah. Yup, I've got that CD.
Crimetime Orchestra, huh? Never heard of them but I like it.
I also like Psychedelic Furs.
An explanation of Crimetime Orchestra! Thanks.
I don't even know what to make of that.
I'm joking, mostly.
This piece is lovely, though... what is it again? First song, last set?
I'll answer for him -- a classical string piece? That was Koji Asano's Suite No. 3 from violin and viola suites. I'm keeping track here.
Is this Friedlander? The next show sounds good too, I'll probably have to keep listening.
My favorite thing about Ben's playlists is that you could easily shuffle the Artist Name, Song Title, and Album Title columns and they'd still sound just as believable.
The next show (ie, the one broadcasting AOTW) is, indeed, good.
Wedge talks a bit too much, though.
8 -- What's to hate about the Psychedelic Furs?
I'm listening to them right now and they're inconsistent but when they're on they're really good.
