Did you see this:
After being asked if when he played, he was the guy that went through and chose the game balls
KENNY: “Make sure you write this correctly, but yes, I was the ball tester.”
CHARLES: “I knew it! You coming out tonight? This is the perfect place, because it’ll be in every newspaper tomorrow. We’re still gonna love you.”
Umm...am I Becks-style, or is Chicago really killing the Heat? Thirty points? Really?
As I tried to tell you at Yglesias's, the Heat's day is over. I expect the Bulls will be a little inconsistent, but they're a good young team.
Fear the coming of Kwame, ogged. Y'er boy Tyrus looks a little soft. Did you put picks up at Yglesias's?
I had some picks in a previous post. I picked the Mavs to win it all.
Let it be here recorded that you're on crack about Kwame.
Yeah, I know. But the high is so sweet....
Who are those guys? Shaq, James Carville, X, Y...?
It should be noted that Comrade Pooh practices the politics of doubt. I practice the politics of hope.
Who are those guys?
From left to right: Magic Johnson, Ernie Johnson (the studio host, who is only bald because he's doing chemo), Kenny Smith (former guard for the Houston Rockets), and Charles Barkley.
Not to rain on anyone's parade, and I can see your point about Magic Johnson, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley - but the guy second from the left is Ernie Johnson, and he's not bald by choice.
He revealed in February that he's battling cancer. The new look is a result of that. It was shocking to see how much he's changed in the offseason, and how different he looks from a result of the chemo.
From everything I've read he's a great guy, and my thoughts are with him and his family.
If you look at the link in comment #2, and click through the link at that web site, you'll see that he's bald by his wife's choice: she couldn't take the patchy chemo hair. And, yeah, everyone seems to think Johnson is a great guy (and the Ritchie Cunningham of that show).
11: "the Houston Rockets" s/b "UNC and some pro team or other"
In Phoenix the return of Stoudamire will be balanced by Stevie's losing the Nash-force when he cut his hair. I see Mavs and Phoenix again, with the Mavs winning it all. Dirk can't lose to his nerves two years in a row.
I posted predictions at Yglesias' but they seem all messed up. I think the Mavs are probably the best team in the league, but I just can't pick them to win it all for some reason.
In particularly I have no idea what to expect from Houston and Cleveland this season. Either could do big things or implode.
The league is really wide open this year, and the West is deep.
What setting do these guys use on their clippers?
Can I just say that it's great to see EJ back in the saddle?
The Knicks have, with one game, confirmed that they're completely unwatchable.
