Re: You Know They Wanted To Say It

There was a great photo of several leaders wearing these outfits on the front page of today's NY Times; I searched briefly for an online copy of the picture but finding none, did not post.

My favorite of these events is from several years ago--you can practically see Putin and Bush wonder why they're in blue and Jiang is in red. His little smile says it all: suckers.

"World Leaders Go for a Hair Cut"

Forget where I saw that.

I was thinking something more like "What are we doing wrong? Eddie Izzard makes this looks so wizard cocksucker."

What's up with the color coding? The white guys are in blue, the women in pink, the Asians in yellow and that one mismatched black guy in green.

Apparently they got to choose. Although the male leaders were not offered the choice of pink.

I suspect the Asian leaders may have known about this:

The ao dai was worn in feudal Vietnam, with yellow reserved for the King, purple and red for high-ranking palace officials and blue for petty court officials.

You know, they're really very nice looking.

8: At least some of them got to choose. From that article you linked:

The APEC "ao dai" come in blue, red, yellow and green for male leaders, while women ones had a choice of pink.

And everyone knew Bush would choose blue -- it's his favorite color, and Laura knows that when buying him ties (and underwear). So the others chose accordingly.
