From the description:
Probably the one day a year you can drive wasted and no one would notice.
Uh, yeah.
Hell, Dallas is like that after a light rain. We don't get enough to wash the oil off the roads. Add very aggressive drivers and/or over-cautious inexperienced-with-rain drivers and traffic slows to a crawl at every sprinkle.
We just close the place down when there is ice.
In Portland traffic slows down to 5 MPH with an inch of snow. No one has snow tires and a lot of people have bald tires. All it takes is one terrified person, and a long line forms behind them. Portland is a moderately hilly city and that makes it worse. You see lots of cars in the ditch. It's hard to believe until you've seen it.
It takes forever to get the snow off, because you don't have snow every year so they're not prepared.
The ice storms are genuinely bad, though. Put 1/2" of ice on every surface and you can't even walk. I've seen people crawl a block and a half on ice. Iced trees fall down and kill people.
Warning: 3 looks like it is going to be more apostropher funniness, but really it is just dumb sports stuff.
But it's Rex Grossman, which means it's loosely on-topic for here.
It snowed last night in New York! It's so pretty out!
OT: I keep my cock in a garage.
Apo, I've been watching their games, but not really following coverage of the Bears. Has he been doing anything off the field to earn the Sexy Rexy stuff, or is it just a perfect way to criticize his insane playing style?
What the hell, is D.C. the only place in the whole country without snow?
10 - D.C. didn't get any snow? That's sad. I was hoping it would be all pretty and frosted when I get there tonight.
Nothing at all. We're getting screwed over here. I want my blizzard, damn it!
Well bye guys, I'll see some of you tonight. If any of you happen to be reading an Unfogged thread and think Hey, this seems just up the Clownae's alley (and that's not a euphemism), send me a letter and maybe I will come take a look. I expect I will keep commenting at Postra Phari's place, where the volume is more manageable, and in my Modesto persona on a couple of other Mineshaftly blogs.
It snowed yesterday morning here, but it was all gone by the time we went to bed last night.
So sad.
9: I think the latter. "Sexy Rexy" seems to google toward somebody else.
See you around, Clownae. I hadn't realized you were planning on cutting back so radically.
Yep -- I really like this place but I don't think I can use it in a way that does not consume my entire day and make me totally unproductive -- which is not the way I want to be at my new job. So it's cold turkey for now.
Aw. I'll see you tonight for the send-off, then.
That's what I told myself when I got this job. (That is to say, see you in a few months.)
Yeah, what Chopper said, you quittær.
(What I mean is, good luck!)
Good luck Clownae; hope it's not too long before you're back here.
You may find cold turkey hard to keep up. I tried it a couple of months ago, and actually put some people who emailed off, but felt I missed it too much. Even in a closely-watched new job, I could see myself getting up at night to exchange comments with ttaM, or something.
13: Clown, what's "Postra Phari's Place?"
IDP--I'd been wondering how you were doing career-wise. I'm glad to hear that you found a job.
19: So concentrate at work, then come home and neglect your family instead. If you're lucky, once you settle in you'll be able to return to neglecting both, like I do.
