Re: Things that annoy; podcasts

I can't connect to the dyndns files.

Would something like Amazon's storage work for you? (Not free, but pretty cheap.) Also not free but pretty cheap is Lunarpages' $7/mo. for 250GB plan. Reliability is only so-so (I just left them, in fact, but that's because I had my email there), but it's not terrible, and it would be fine for hosting things like this. For the cost of an eclair each month, give or take

The reason you can't connect is that the server wasn't running. Oops!

It is now, though.

And it's working.

The S3 thing looks interesting as a remote backup (though it would be over $30/month just sitting there for me as things stand); for making things publicly available it looks a little complicated.

Yeah, I was just doing the math on that; it's not so cheap. And you could run into legal issues with any commercial host if you share music.

It would be simpler to put the radio files on unfogged—but out of just such considerations, I didn't.

You see what a thoughtful, stand-up guy I am.

You were complimented in that last post, Mr. Sensitive. If you didn't know about S3, do you also not know about EC2?

"In our love for young Ben we forgive him the same flaw that in others leads to being a Fox News anchor" is a little backhanded as compliments go. And I am unaware of all these web services Amazon offers.

This isn't the fellatio dispensary? What the hell have I been wasting my time here for for the last seven months then?

isn't it nice we have other people to worry about whatever the fuck the dyndns files are? I like that. also, my super-koranic fellatio power will finish you all [exclamation point]

Right now I'm being paid to worry about dyndns files, but I'm writing this instead because nobody can be bothered to sign off on a work authorisation. I'd prefer to be getting a bj, but this office is the opposite of an erotic environment.

It seems that the server class I was using is synchronous. Ha! Whoops! That's no longer true, but someone's download got interrupted while I changed things over so that more than one request can be served at once.

b-wo, I successfully downloaded both files, but both of them stopped playing and skipped to other tracks on my iPod at around eight minutes in. Anything you did, or I should be doing? Anyone else having this problem?

Dunno what's wrong. They both work for me. Try again?

FWIW, I switched to an actual reputable webserver.
