Re: I'll Humanize Her

Just spread the story that you found Jesus in a Singaporean jail and thus went straight. Maybe after a visit from Chuck Colson's prison ministry. You'd be untouchable.

a visit from Chuck Colson's prison ministry

Did I mention I ran into the fucker on Christmas Eve at my parents' church, right after a sermon where the pastor said that God was divinely intervening in the Iraq war to convert Muslims to Jesus?

bza - but Al would need a plausible story about what Jesus had done to wind up in the Singapore jail she found him in. A story that didn't offend Donohue...

Peter Daou, who is very circumspect, has that one locked up. The Natural Law Party could probably use a blogger.

Especially because it doesn't exist, technically speaking.

A long-term plan, evidently.

4: Apparently the music Daou did with his wife was very explicit and provocative. Maybe you can gin up some outrage.

Sure! You're an overeducated feminist mommy who's "chosen" to stay home with the kids, right? How centrist can you get?

Of course, that whole expatriate thing's a bit of an issue, but hey, the carpetbagger thing doesn't seem to have damaged Hillary in New York. As to the rest of it, you can pick your precedent: either you didn't inhale, or your youthful indiscretions led you to Find God.

I predict greatness.

Provided, of course, that God didn't come.

10 is no joke. P*ter is apparently the nephew of Er*ica J*ng, and they did an album "Z*pless" based on her writings. Since 2004 they don't work together musically.

How did HRC become the presumptive front-runner, anyway? Presumed by whom, and on what grounds?

I think it's fundraising -- I believe she has infinitely more money in the bank than any other candidate.

Well, have any NR writers published a book titled Obama: Can he be stopped?

Plus there's already a template for Clinton vs. the Republicans, so anointing her leaves more time for schmoozing.

16: Also, she has certain access advantages in making use of networks used to elect her husband twice. There was an article somewhere in which a lot of young-ish DC political types said that they would have a hard time working against HRC, as Bill had been responsible for their careers. All those people, last having touched the hem of his garment in 2000, are seven years further along in their careers and that much more powerful.

Money, access, connections. It was very clear to me when I went to an Emily's List luncheon about a year ago that she's definitely their preferred candidate; the National Women's Political Caucus seems to be behind her as well.

Strong support among blacks and centrist/liberal women. Bill giving her intro speech. Less of a scary economic-justice platform than Edwards, less melanin and potential unpredictableness than Obama. Inoculated against the RW smear machine.

There are a lot of white rank and file Democrats who will support Hilary because of Bill.

Less of a scary economic-justice platform than Edwards: euphemistic, no?

"'Less of a scary economic-justice platform than Edwards': euphemistic, no?"

More sarcastic than eupemistic - see "melanin" - if that's not rhetorical.

I've got a copy of that record too. Never occurred to me it was the same Daou.
