I always loved that song, and downloaded versions by four different singers during the Kazaa era. (conclusion: Rosemary Clooney's decision to do it as fast as possible, something like 2:05, was the best)

Figs and dates and grapes and cakes, eh? And a Christmas tree? And an Easter egg? And a marriage ring and a pomegranate? Sure, I'll your house a come on.

Y'all aren't doing UnfoggeDZamboanga, are you?

(Actually, I really hope not. When you read about rancid bat with envy...)

There's a lot of speculation about a very early cultural zone stretching from Norway across Siberia down to China (Shang dynasty) and across the Bering strai to the NW Coast (Tlingit, Kwakiutl) all the way down to S. America (Aztec, Maya, Inca). A certain kind of two-headed or two faced image is common to these areas, and it's thought to be associated with human sacrifice and cannibalism. Human sacrifice was common in China until ca, 200 BC and cannibalism was also found.

The most striking similarities are between Shang Chinese figures and N. American Pacific coast figures (from Washington to Alaska).

Some of the things by K C Chang also mention this, I think.

6: Fear not LB, I'm sure I'll have all the rancid bat I need in the next month.
I'm glad the mysterious Alameida and Husband x made it home, last seen mysteriously unable to get a cab and heading somewhat forlornly to a bus stop.

Some of us commenters live in SEAc-sX.

[Lara] I'm sure Alameida will have lots of great suggestions, but for me the one thing you should not miss is the Botanic Gardens, and more specifically the orchid garden. Then you should spend the rest of your time eating.

fuck, I know; it's raining so hard out there I can't even see the trees on the hill on the other side of the road. it's white-out rain. the kids are bored because they can't go out to the playground.

I thought the climate in Asia was less tropical. What has all this rain done to Alameida's yurt?

25: Saying "asia is my list of places to go" is a bit like saying "the southern hemisphere is on my list of places to go".
