The font size at CT is a lot larger than at Berube's old blog. I foresee a lot of scrolling, scrolling, scrolling.
I eagerly await the incomprehensible rugby tournament vs. enervated hockey tournament throwdowns.
CT will be slightly less stodgy now, but there's no need for alarm. Your stodginess needs will still be fully satisfied.
You call that a hiatus? Amateur!
Your stodginess needs will still be fully satisfied.
Yes, our strategy on stodginess diversification is to acquire Unfogged as a wholly owned subsidiary of CT. We will probably keep the name but rebrand it with a new tag line. Marketing thinks "By Iranian Labs no Straight Lifeguard was ever Laid" captures the synergy in an edgy-cute way, on the one hand reminding us of the many chuckles Ogged Labs has given us with his madcap tales of being a freakishly tall Middle-Eastern philosopher, and on the other hand recalling the well-established maturity of the coporate parent.
I for one welcome our new academic overlords.
our new academic overlords.
We prefer "mentors."
Bérubé's Back
And you're gonna be in trouble
Hey na, Hey na...
Hey K, do you still maintain your own blog separate to CT, or has it been subsumed utterly? I always thought that was a nice page back in the day.
I may have to hide out with Kotsko while I gather my forces.
Professor, the subject
Of Clownae's fantasy
K, do you still maintain your own blog separate to CT,
I do, here, but almost all of the posts are also on CT and I haven't enabled comments in ages. Thriving Unfogged community it ain't. I also write (even) more pointy-headed stuff for OrgTheory which gets mirrored on my own blog.
What's this? CT is like, thirty goddamn times more stodgy than Unfogged. If you subsume us (and we are not for sale, Man) you'll only see stodgy in your fading memory of the British oppressor, even if [snarky comment about your co-bloggers].

I forsee not having to use the apple+ keys multiple times in order to read the damn thing.
There's the stodgy factor, and then there's the commenters factor. I wonder look forward to what'll happen if when Bérubé starts giving them all the smack down.
Isn't CT house style to ignore the commenters?
What's this? CT is like, thirty goddamn times more stodgy than Unfogged.
Yeah ... that would be why we are diversifying by acquiring Unfogged. This is the crystal clear meaning of the phrase "our strategy on stodginess diversification" if you have an MBA. No wonder you're ripe for a takeover. But keep up that feisty attitude! It's why we're buying you. Let's have my people stand up your people for lunch soon.
My people already have plans to be stood up by younger and hotter people.
Hmm. How old are you, anyway? Do you see me as some kind of middle-aged academic?
18: Yes, but it isn't Michael's style.
I think you and I are very nearly the same age; don't try to make it like my imputation of stodginess is some kind of factual error.
"Unfogged: Fusty, but not stodgy"
My people already have plans to be stood up by younger and hotter people.
Ogged's all set for lunch dates, thanks.
Apparently you also say Connecticut Now.
Vorsicht, Ogged. Acquisition/merger mania indeed. Their plan is to strip you of your ass-ets.
Berube better post soon. I'm getting very close to being outraged by Chappaquiddick.
