Streaming is intermittent, so I can't really liveblog it. It's not that it's a remarkable address, but he's just smooth and articulate. He started with a nice bit about how OSU, as a land-grant institution, owes its existence to the 1862 Land Grant Act, passed (he says) as a profound act of optimism during the darkest national hour. Then on a bit about how we can overcome global challenges with our focus on common humanity, invoking-- aha!-- both the learning and the faith in humanity that are embodied in the Ohio State University. All standard stuff, but nicely packaged, and it's nice to see him show off some facts. I'm pretty sure that not much of this is written down.

Racist.
It doesn't matter how smart or capable the president is. What matters is whether he surrounds himself with smart and capable people. And a stupid president is, um...more likely to do that for some reason. Anyway, saying the words "smart" and "stupid" reeks of condescention.
B, was I supposed to get something from you? as usual there is nothing.
Aw, fuck. N/m, I'll text you instead.
Jonah Goldberg reads this blog?! If only I'd known...
11: Labs knows a good thing when he sees it, Ben.
You don't have the kind of thing he's interested in, though.
