Or we pretended to be other people? At least had one thread of totally pirated identities?
Oh boo. I adore Veselka and would love to have come, but I will be in beautiful Portage Co., OH.
Ah, Veselka . . . I've basically crawled there on hands and knees on particularly crapulent Sunday mornings.
Wouldn't that lend itself to abuse?
I've always loved you, Ogged.
UGH! Then the e-mail address shows up! I suck at the game.
interesting or annoying
So does this answer your question?
erm, you can pretend to be wise but can't pretend to be witty. So boring I could eat my trousers.
Actually, this entire thread has been me.
It's OK heebie. I wouldn't have laughed anyway.
I sometimes hide the author of a comment, guess who it is, and then scroll down. I can pretty reliably guess Emerson and a few others. I swear, I used to have a life.
The thing about heebie is how consistently funny she is. Probably the best commenter ever.
For (re)anonymity to work, everyone would have to pick new names for the process. You couldn't carry on a conversation with no internal continuity.
The thing about heebie is how consistently dull she is. Probably the worst commenter ever.
I'm Ogged! I love to shower with my clothes on! Look at me! I'm soooooo Ogged!
Impersonations suck. Plus, I make all the rules.
Isn't this how the japanese post on their board?
Exactly! with no names there can be no impersonations.
16: nah, we'll just permute the ones we've got.
Why do comments have to come from different people? the joy of the experiment is the depersonalization and unity.
perhaps it should be just a thread in which everyone posts under the same name
("?" added in deference to Ogged in #15)
Has anyone ever noticed that kittens are revolting? Also, chocolate: ridiculously overrated.
Seriously, the "Everyone picks a fresh name for a day, and we see how transparent it is" sounds interesting, but impersonations or actual namelessness just sound dull.
This will be so great. Or something.
I think actual namelessness sounds interesting. You should just disable the fields for a day, ogged. Of course, then people could just put their names in the comment.
27: yes, although I wonder how much would be visible from the new names themselves?
