God, god, god, cackle, giggle, war, god, god, god, god.

I hate American politics.

Blatant anti-New York-ism.

The laughing Giuliani is a grotesque that would give Bosch pause.

Which is more disturbing: the Giuliani guffaw or his hypnostare?

Everyone loves HypnoToad.

Where did I read that Giuliani's giggle is his "tell" -- if he giggles, he's lying?

But those clips make me think he's huffing nitrous every time the camera's off him. And reminding me uncomfortably of Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet.

8: The episode of Everyone Loves Hypnotoad on the Bender's Big Score DVD is hysterical.

The Rudy giggle is obviously a mating call, and is clearly intended to attract the notice of Ann Althouse.

Isn't it? The love, it is strong.

It really was weird how the giggle would start as soon as Russert started to ask a question. It was like a sitcom cliche of a stoner being quizzed by Dad at the kitchen table.

Tim should've said, "And just what is so funny, young man?"

I don't trust anyone who enunciates "m"s with their upper teeth and lower lips.

Mouth-breathers....

Anyone know whether Rudy has dentures? The way he lisps (not to mention the evenly shiny toothiness of his teeth) has made me wonder, but I don't know enough about how he's looked over the years.

Oh right, new Futurama direct-to-DVD: rent/buy/perfectly legally acquire from the interwebs?

I recall him being lispy as long as I remember him being in public office, but that doesn't mean he didn't lose teeth as a young man.

I think I saw a paper recently about a language that has this sound. I'll try to dig up the cite later.

In the UPSID data base (presented in the now-out-of-print book PATTERNS OF
SOUND by Ian Maddieson at UCLA), there is one language listed as having a
PHONEMIC labiodental nasal: Teke.

I don't think that's it. I think this was a newly identified thing. Maybe it wasn't a nasal.

Nevermind, it was actually two papers about apicolabials, which aren't quite as rare.
