We appreciate your perfunctory effort, sick boy.
You'd better still be sick. Your fans, all those disappointed 5yo kindergarteners, would want no other.
From another thread:
What time are folks going to Sette?
Excited to see all these plans. Reminds me of Usenet heyday. My LD girlfriend is in town, so maximizing time with her until (conveniently!) her bridesmaid get-together starts around 7pm and I head towards U. An astonishing coincidence.
I just realized Giants-Pats was on tonight. Oh well. Probably won't be that good of a game anyway.
And I'm still sick. So there!
You should call Mr. B. He knows a good technique for clearing out that snot.
My LD girlfriend
Lincoln-Douglas? Latter-day?
I wish, Lincoln-Douglas. I always wanted to date a debater.
Lame duck? Last dance? Lucho Diablo?
It turns out that my Dec. 30 housing has become uncertain and I am looking for a couch (in NY or DC) to crash on. I am very undemanding and relatively harmless. I do have one option and am not utterly desperate, but it's not a terribly favorable one.
11- I can help you with DC. It is literally a couch, though. Send me an email at ronjburr at gmail if you're interested.
By the way, what time is the dinner at Teaism or Sette. I missed the Hirshhorn tour so it'd be great to meet some before the party.
I am empathetic, John. Jammies scoffed and said real hipsters don't need no stinking couch.
Everyone missed the Hirshhorn tour.
I'm sorry, Armey. Were the other tours well-attended?
By tourists, yes! I have never seen the Corcoran so crowded, and there was a freaking line to see Turner. Turner! I'm not used to seeing anyone at all in the National Gallery since I typically go when it's closed.

/Berra
M/M/, Sir Kraab, Becks, and Young w-lfs-n saw the Turner show. It was rly crowded.
Sorry to have missed the art. Weekend chores got in the way. That and Ogged's cold.
Apostropher went to the Hirshorn and couldn't find anybody. He's at Lucky Bar near DuPont circle (18th and Connecticut) with Blume and I.
I disagree with Goebbels about most things but you know, culture. No one is wrong all the time, after all. And as it happens, I'm unarmed and would have been entirely helpless in the face of that enormous accumulation of art thingies. Concrete, culture, stuff like that -- DC has lots of it. A superpower needs lots of that stuff, the more so a preponderant superpower in a monopolar world.

We're all individuals, that's for sure.
I really do have the start of yet another cold. I blame Ogged.
I did make some Nog earlier in the week. I took some to a party and it was pronounced good. The remainder, most of a gallon, I'll bring tonight. I don't know if Sifu has had a chance to make his. EggNog and the Patriots!
I might have failed to mention that I also missed the tour today.
Emerson is a liberal fascist.
(I know he'll not identify with either term.)
In lieu of actual information about what's going on, Asl and possibly some others are going to Sette at Duppont Circle about 5:00.
Okay, Jammies and I are going to mobilize in that direction then. I don't think we can get there by 5:00 but maybe 6:00-6:30. Emerson has my phone number if he checks his e-mail.
Hey kids,
Just talked to parsimon. 5:30 at the Sette Osteria seems to be the idea.
The address is 1666 Connecticut Ave, at Connecticut Ave and R St., two blocks north of Dupont Circle.
This hotel is charging me 5.95 for 15 minutes of internet access. Highway robbery!
$5.95? Stinkage.
Rah and I did the Turner show earlier this morning because I misremembered and navigated us to the Mall at 10am instead of wherever the 10am thing was. Extremely lovely. Dude liked him some paintings of stuff on fire.
I have taken a picture of - and now link to - a book that I could not allow myself to be seen purchasing, even at Lambda Rising: Leo Cardini's Mineshaft Nights. Rah tried to sell me on buying it and doing a dramatic reading but I really can't imagine doing it justice.
parsimon just asked me to post a comment about the Sette Osteria, but IA's already gone and posted it.
We saw the Turner, but we didn't see any of you assholes. I sure as shit wasn't up at fucking 10 am though.
Since Unfogged has been turned off for the night, I'm just going to complain about a great calumny which has just befallen me. Or, rather, which I have just befallen into.
I was lugging stuff in from my friend's car, after an afternoon of errand-running, and I had the brilliant idea to open the heavy outside door, and then turn around and back through with my load of plastic storage boxes and catfood (for my sister's cat, I still don't have one. Fucking landlords!). Unfortunately, my boots were encrusted with slush, and my feet could find no purchase on the slush-besodden unpainted plywood floor of the porch. Reader, I went ass-over-teacups. I landed with my already damaged lower back right on top of the raised portion of the door frame. Thankfully, the door did not slam into my head, but I had the wind knocked out of me, and couldn't move for a minute or two as I struggled to regain my breath and figure out if I had completely disabled myself. I am now about to lie down, after haven taken some naproxen sodium and cyclobenzaprene, but DAMN, do I feel stupid!
Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch...
Goodness gracious, minneapolitan, I hope you didn't do any lasting damage to yourself.
Lasting damage seems to have been averted. I'm still sore, but I can move at least.
