You're not done with "your mix"?
Meaning that you're just making one generic mix and sending it out to a bunch of people?
Does this mean I don't get a personal mix, when I'm making one for you?
Fie, w-lfs-n. Fie.
Incidentally, I sent you TWO emails today. One personal, and one social invite. So even if you are craving emails, you certainly aren't responding to them.
bitch's boyfriend is more dapper
We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
Apostropher on the other hand, contrary to his online image, was dressed in an extravagant ensemble of brightly colored imported silks.
While I was still dressed, anyway.
(Ben said he was trying to cause trouble, but it was such a feeble attempt I thought I'd try to help him out)
This is an RIAA sting operation, isn't it?
I'd like to suggest that bitch's boyfriend is more dapper than I've ever witnessed slolernr to be
I've never met slolernr. So if I were to make an invidious comparison, I would suggest that Mr B is more dapper than B's boyfriend.
"I crave your entrails". I thought it was brains.
When I get to MN I will send Ben my avant-garde/jazzrock/miscellaneous mix (3 CDs). Playlist here:
http://www.idiocentrism.com/favorites1.htm
again me with my unasked insight
i'm glad i saw pics, i was imagining people here as that 70's show's characters for example John Emerson was red, ogged was naturally erik or fez intermittently, ben w-lfs-n - steve, donna - serious white girls, jackie - when not serious, all generic white guys - kelso etc
see i imagined right, very sympathetic
though of course all of you are deeper than them
in your opinion :)
Mr. B was very dapper but otherwise seemed like a fine person. Irony: he's a real German, but looks much less German than B.
I forgot to mention that after the Hipster Emerson costume was rejected I was working on a composite Dude / Walter Lebowski outfit.
And as I've said, we really are honkies, aren't we? We're not even very Jewish. Rather than be defensive, I think that we should point out that every choice to affiliate with Unfogged frees up an elite position for a person of color. We're not exactly overachievers around here, are we? As far as DS and Silvana go, perhaps it would be easier to adopt them into the formerly-master race rather than try to attain a diversity of slackerdom among our own little sinking ship.
Lake Wobegon welcomes diversity, we have a Chinese pastor's wife in the most Lutheran church we've got, but so far, Wobegon has not been a magnet either for the suffering masses or for the cosmopolitan elite.
Read, you have to come to the next one. Heebie cried when she realized that her reign as the Unfogged new face was over and that you had replaced her. Poor Heebie.
When I get back to Minnesota I want to put together a page of links to Mongolian video and whatever other internet resources you want to tell me about.
I had a bandana to donate to Emerson's hipster cause, but I forgot all about it.
Meaning that you're just making one generic mix and sending it out to a bunch of people?
No, I'm making two. Something like twenty people expressed an interest, and I'm sipmly not prepared to make individualized mixes for them all. Christ on a crutch, BL.
I would also point out that what I wrote was "I haven't finished mine yet", which has no implications as to quantity.
So even if you are craving emails, you certainly aren't responding to them.
No contradiction there.
You still know where I live, right, w-lfs-n?
This is not the "send your address" thread!!1!
hm, so sstalking and other settings are old like mir

the song is about fall, not seasonal but still
may be i'll find a winter or new year song too
the boyfriend says, "dapper and falling-down drunk."
This e-mail address works.
I was stuck for a while, but I think I will get my mix finished today.
There's (at least) one song that doesn't quite fit but, darn it, who cares, I'm going with it anyway.
Let me rephrase and expand.
I will be using gmail's labels to group together the emails from people for when I make the announcement post. So you should email me.
i'm very much interested in sending emails to interested people about cds and else
without involving physical addresses preferrably
coz you know megan's law notification letter was like scary :)
and i'm usually not afraid of almost anything in life
hm, a dilemma
to send or not to send etc
omg again i said something terribly rude
sorry, sorry
i should now definitely write an e-mail to ben w-lfs-n saying i do not think of strangers here
as about strangers elsewhere in general
with precaution
You weren't rude, read, though it will be difficult to have a CD mailed to you without divulging an address.
indeed
i'll think over it until the deadline
Music thought of the day:
I was listening to "Bastards of Young" by the Replacements, thinking about how strong the final verse is, and was suddenly struck by the last line of the verse:
"The ones who love us best are the ones we'll lay to rest
And visit their graves on holidays at best.
The ones who love us least are the ones we'll die to please.
If it's any consolation, I don't begin to understand them."
What incredibly confident song writing that is.
I don't know how he wrote that, but imagine that you're Paul Westerberg, you're 25, you've just written three lines of a verse that's better than most people write in their lifetime, and you need a closing line. You might get nervous at this point, and decide that you just want something that won't fuck it up.
Instead, he writes a line that doesn't rhyme, doesn't really scan, doesn't sound like any other rock lyric, ever, and is completely brilliant. It anchors the verse, and the entire song, by making it personal and pulling it away from being too glib.
And, how great a word is "consolation" there, both in sound and mood?
I've heard that song dozens of times, and that final line never stuck in my head. It was always the parallelism of the preceding lines that I remembered, but that last line is amazing.
The last sentence of this post made me grin.
I must be blind: Where's your email address? I put together a mostly blues set below, will put together a mostly middle eastern set too (Rachid Taha, Cheb Mami, Googoosh, Orchestra Baobab each 2x, others.) I'd send two of each, plus as many mix-for-mix exchanges as people are into.
