First they came for the Demolition Man, but I was not black.
I figure he should be able to fight his way out of whatever prison he gets put in.
He should know when he's well off. In the 1950s the top rate of personal income tax inthe US was 72% (95% in Britain).
Bloody luxury!
This story is reaffirming on one count: after so many years of Republican rule, i was doubtful whether millionaires were audited by the IRS anymore.
Hits like Fred McGriff, pays taxes like Irwin Schiff.
Please don't mock people like Riehl. You'll invariably alienate centrist voters and they will be forced to vote for the republicans in november. Also don't criticize the surge, any Kagans or McCain.
Some motherfuckers are always trying to evade taxes uphill.
I think we can safely abbreviate comment 2 as WWOD, since we'll be needing to say it constantly.
That's not gonna work. I thought WWOD must mean "what would Ogged do?"
This post reminds me of the time when a rather dim-witted but good-natured anti-racist skinhead turned up at a show wearing a Gordon Kahl t-shirt. He had to be taken aside and it was gently explained to him that, while yes, Kahl was indeed a farmer who'd shot a lot of cops, still, he wasn't the sort of person we were trying to emulate.
Anti-cop farmers can be found at all points along the political spectrum.
anti-racist skinhead
Isn't this an oxymoron? "Skinhead," in my mind, implies both a style of personal grooming and a certain set of beliefs. I would have thought that racism (and/or anti-Semitism) was an integral part of those beliefs, but if they aren't, then beliefs do make someone a skinhead? I mean, a shaved head certainly doesn't require racism and vice versa, but then I'd just call the person "bald."
16: No, that's a real social phenomenon. Just shaving your head doesn't make you a skinhead, but if your head is shaved, your boots are Docs, your pants are rolled at the cuff and suspendered, and you're slamming yourself around in a mosh pit, you're a skinhead, racist or no. An anti-racist skinhead (and I've met them) is doing the esthetic and the working-class identification, but not the racist politics.
