Wow. Look at the Cubs up there. I wonder how they will wound me this year.
I might be developing a non-creepy blog crush on Ben Fry.
That is a really cool chart. It would be interesting to see it done with individual players, but that would be a huge project.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Pretty fucking cool.
4: It's a fantasy, Ogged.
(Bacon is actually the only meat I miss, as a vegetarian. Food of the gods!)
Per the link, I actually used one of those turbo hand dryers recently. Pretty remarkable. It actually does sound like a jet engine, and it's way more effective than the usual wimpy versions. I'm sure there are YouTube videos.
How about year-by-year?
Bet no team can keep up a high ratio for more than a couple straight seasons, 'til those kids contracts expire and they start asking for more dough.
Mostly OT, while I'm on vacation:
I was driving in to the Yankees game today (to take Iris to the Stadium before it's gone; she's already been to Shea) and saw a car with one of those Euro-style oval plaques. It said BG, and I instantly thought of bostoniangirl.
I think this break will be good for me.
Unless I come back and start making jokes about how Sifu's a lawyer and LB can be such a little bitch.
Ben Fry is indeed pretty goddamn awesome. He created Processing, for one thing, a project to which several other open hardware & software projects owe a debt (including Arduino). And, as this post mentions, he's been featured in both the Whitney and on the cover of Nature. Not bad.
For more cool visualization stuff in Processing, check out this guy's blog. The animations showing magnetic lines of force are particularly cool, I think.
I should add: all credit to arthegall, who's the one who made me aware of Fry.
14!
