Re: It's Not All Bad

there were a study or a poll i forgot that almost 50% of doctors do not respond, reveal themselves in the critical situations, that good samaritan law
last yr when i was traveling there was an announcement on the plane, are there any doctors
i was soo that, mortified, nothing serious it was when i asked the stewardess after 10-15 min passed
still everytime i fly i hope nothing will happen
once we were walking in Tokyo around midnight with my japanese colleagues, both were interventional cardiologists and we saw how a sports car collided into the road center booth, there was someone inside the car, the car front was badly damaged, though it was not going to explode or something, at least there was not visible smoke, the person inside looked intact, i mean he was moving his arms and legs, we hesitated what to do, in 2-3 min some police cars came and we left

People are capable of amazing acts of heroism & generosity, cowardice & cruelty. The same people, sometimes on the same day.

What is praiseworthy must be unpredictable, and being unpredictable constrains the extension from the act to the person.

The level of Boston sports propaganda on this blog just keeps increasing.

Are there really any substantial number of Floridians or Michiganders who are paying enough attention to this that it might affect their votes in the fall? The level of engagement, combined with the levev of caring about stupid stuff (that is, a sane Fl/MI type wouldn't hold whatever happens against the eventual Dem candidate or the Dems generally), seems like it can't possibly apply to many people.

I think that we can all agree that FL/MI voters are the true heroes.

I think this is the right thread.

An intern for the Yankees would have stolen her purse and split.

10: An intern for the Spurs would have laid down, started screaming and insisted that they be treated first.

For our younger readers, that is an example of what is known as "manning up."

There's a pic of her in the hospital, presumably recovering*.

As for the world, I count it not an inn, but an hospital, and a place, not to live, but to die in. (Sir T. B.)

13: The link goes to the second page of the story, B; the first page says she's hospitalized with leg injuries.

16: Ah, cool. I was afraid she'd been paralyzed, lost her legs, whatever. Or died.
