CHeck this out. At this very moment, TNT is showing "Air Force One", and TBS is showing "The Perfect Man". And A&E is showing "Flight 93".
What does it all mean?
What this country needs is another attack on American soil, to separate the men from the boys liberals, and show the terrorists what an American patriot bed-wetter looks like.
On the night of 9/11/01, our local TV station showed Alive.
3: Don't you think it's a little early in the thread to go meta?
What this country needs is a good five-cent cigar.
5: So now you're telling us we should just be quiet and wait our turn? Typical.
What this country needs is a good Broca's Area joke.
"So, did the fall hurt him?"
"Hurt him? It damn near Broca's Area!"
If, like me, you haven't seen Air Force One, you should treat yourself to the plot synopsis in the link. The movie sounds masterfully idiotic.

It's on right now! You owe it to yourself to watch this movie. And the rise of Russia as an eeevil power again makes it more relevant than ever.
The movie sounds masterfully idiotic.
And I, for one, welcome our new Alaskan overlords.
Mercifully, I don't even have cable.
This is an example of an "open thread" I suppose. Therefore I will report that my iTunes just segued (alphabetically by artist) from Britney Spears's "Boys" to Bruce Cockburn's "If I Had a Rocket Launcher").
Sometimes segues like that make me laugh out loud, and yet it's hard to create one intentionally, it has to be random.
I still remember the day when XMMS segued from Thinking Fellers Union Local 282's "Guillotine", to Talk Talk's "Taphead", to Univers Zero's "Complainte".
I have gotta say, there are just some songs that sound great segueing out of ANYTHING. like Fifty Tons of Black Terror's "Creeper's Reef". or the Cure's "Why Can't I Be You".
There's nothing between "Bri" and "Bru".
Oh, by first name. How peculiar.
That's the way I've always seen it. For instance, Ted Leo is followed immediately by Teenage Fanclub in my music library. It can't tell that "Ted" is a first name but "Teenage" isn't, so it just goes by straight alphabetical order (though it does ignore "the" if it's present in a band name).
(though it does ignore "the" if it's present in a band name)
"The The" is treated as a single space.
It would be REALLY classy if they showed United 93 on one of those basic cable shows like "USA Up All Night" and "Dinner and a Movie", where the movie hosts act out funny little skits and cook recipies in between the movie and the commercial breaks.
A couple weeks back, Making Light ran a reappraisal of Air Force One. The President surrenders to the turrarists!
I was going to bring up Air Force One in that discussion about whether the Presidency requires physical courage. To which the answer is: HELL YES! In fact, Presidents today require ever more physical courage, as thanks to feminism there are more and more women staffers around them who need protection from terrorists.
Remember Bush's macho moment when he manhandled Chilean security at some conference he was at? DAMN! I wish that they had shot him. What a lowlife creep.
